TikTokā¢ – A Billionaire Has A Plan To Save The InternetāBuying TikTokā¢ Is The Next Step
Frank McCourt, the real estate mogul and former LA Dodgers owner, wants to go all in on the Decentralised Social Networking Protocol.
Heās spearheading a bid to buy TikTok and is one of the few people interested in the app who couldn’t care less about its powerful algorithm. McCourt wants to fix the internet, and he thinks TikTokā¢ could help him do it.
TikTokā¢ – 60-Minute-Long TikToks?
That’s right. TikTok is currently testing hour-long videos as it continues to take on YouTubeā¢. The question really is… Would you watch a 1-hour video on TikTok?
Instagramā¢ – Ā Is Experimenting With Virtual Pets For Stories
A new way to incentivise Instagram Stories engagement may be on the horizon via virtual pets that change in appearance based on how many likes a post gets.
Metaā¢ – No, You Canāt Opt Out Of Meta Using Your Posts For AI Training
Just in case you were wondering if those posts you see with “I own the copyright to all the images and posts etc” work, well they don’t. If it’s public, it’s Metas!
General – US Surgeon General Wants Social Media Warning Labels
Now this one definitely caught my attention – do let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on this one š
Writing inĀ the New York Times Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said social media increased the risk that children would experience symptoms of anxiety and depression.
He wants people who visit these platforms to be shown a message warning that they are “associated with significant mental health harms for adolescents”.
General – Apple Brings Chat GPT To Siri

LinkedInā¢ – Do You Ever Withdraw Your Old Connection Invitations?
If you don’t, you should! LinkedInā¢ actually want you to do your housekeeping and withdraw any old connection invites. Not removing pending invites could even result in your account being put into LinkedInā¢ jail and/or having decreased visibility!
If they haven’t responded within a month withdraw it! How? Go to my network, invitations – see all, sent.
Facebookā¢ – Pin A Post
Facebook allow you to pin a post to the top of your company page so that it is the first thing visitors see when they land on your page. Everything else you post gets added to the page feed below the pinned post. How? Click the 3 dots at the top of each post.
This is a great strategy for important messages such as opening times, bank holidays or special offers. Basically anything you don’t want to disappear down the feed. Co-ordinate this post with your banner image for double the impact šµ
Instagramā¢ – Username & Name
Did you realise that these do not have to be the same? Your username should be your company name as this will be your Instagram handle and really wants to reflect the other channels you use too. For example @rachelmooresocialmedia etc.
However, your company name can be absolutely anything you want! Say you sold cakes, it could be ‘Wedding & Celebration Cakes, Leeds’ Having keywords in the page title is a clever tactic too.
If you’d like to become more visible on social media then let’s have a chat 07904 007 660 or email me rachel@rachelmooresocialmedia.com. I’m always happy to chat.
