Meta™ – EU Threatens To Fine Meta™ For Saying Facebook™ Is ‘Free’

The European Union says it has notified Meta that its “pay or consent” model for Facebook and Instagram might violate consumer protection laws. The EU’s Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Network says the company has until September 1st, 2024, to propose changes to its model, which it calls “misleading” and “confusing” for users or face potential fines.

Instagram™ – Experiments With Super Likes For Stories

Just as Instagram adds an interesting, and original music sharing option for Threads, it’s also seemingly experimenting with another feature that’s been copied from another app.

According to a finding in the back-end code of the latest IG app, the platform is working on a Tinder-style “Super Like” option for Stories.

Instagram™ – Launches Multitrack Audio Feature, Allowing Users To Add Up To 20 Tracks To A Single Reel

In a bid to bolster its short-form video offering and compete more effectively with TikTok, Instagram is rolling out a powerful new feature for Reels called multitrack audio.

TikTok™ –  Announces New Eventbrite Integration

TikTok has announced a new partnership with events platform Eventbrite which will enable both creators and fans to promote Eventbrite links in-stream.

YouTube™ – Is Developing Thumb Frame Customisation For Shorts Clips

YouTube is not planning to enable custom thumbnails for Shorts clips at this stage, but it is working on a related solution that’s pretty similar either way.

General – Google™ Abandons Plan to Phase Out Tracking Cookies

Well, after all that, after years of telling us that cookie tracking is going away, and that marketers need to brace themselves for the next big shift, Google has now announced that it won’t actually be retiring cookies after all 😱

Facebook™

Did you know that you can now edit Reels even after they have been posted?

LinkedIn™

If you’re not seeing posts from the people you want to see in your Feed pop over to their profile and start interacting with their posts via the ‘Activity’ section. Their posts will resurface in your Feed. To be honest just a quick click of their profile will probably do the same job.  Alternatively try giving them a quick endorsement or two. Test them all and see which works the best for you! (Pst… this works on Facebook too).

Facebook™ & Instagram™

One huge difference between Facebook and Instagram is the amount of information you can add to your Facebook business page compared to the limited amount of information you can add to your Instagram bio.

As Facebook offer you the opportunity to talk about your business extensively, especially in the ‘About’ and ‘Details About You’ section of your page wouldn’t it be a great idea to use that space rather than leaving it blank or just writing a couple of lines? Plus Google indexes Facebook Business Pages, so the text you include on your profile can help you rank in global and local search engine results. Make sure to include those keywords 🥰
