Welcome to this week’s Rachel’s Social Snippets #71 – Bringing you the latest social media information helping to keep you up-to-date in the ever changing world of social media.

Meta™ – Has Discontinued Its Metaverse For Work
Meta is shutting down Horizon Workrooms, the virtual reality collaboration app that Mark Zuckerberg introduced in 2021.
Another reminder that not every shiny new platform sticks, which is why focusing on core platforms your audience already uses still matters.
LinkedIn™ – Articles Are Getting More Citations in AI Responses
If you’re looking to get more mentions in AI responses, LinkedIn should be on your radar.
Long-form, well-written content is quietly becoming more valuable again, especially if you want visibility beyond the LinkedIn feed.
Threads™ – Edges Out X In Daily Mobile Users, New Data Shows
Is Threads actually now beating X in daily active users?
Interesting momentum, but for most businesses this is still one to observe rather than rush into.
Pinterest ™ – Highlights Trending Colours for 2026
These are the colours that Pinterest’s team believes will drive more interest this year.
Useful inspiration if you create visuals regularly, but trends should enhance your brand, not override it.
Google™ – Launches Improved Veo AI Video Generation Tools
Some handy additions, including the capacity to generate vertical videos.
AI video is getting easier, but strategy and clarity still matter far more than the tools themselves.
General – Charted: The Explosive Growth of Gen AI Apps
Trying to get your head around the impact of generative AI on the broader digital landscape, this new infographic should help.
A helpful visual reminder of just how fast this space is moving and why it’s okay to focus on what’s genuinely useful for you rather than trying to keep up with everything.

ChatGPT – Important Setting To Check
I’m sure I have probably mentioned this in a previous Snippet many months ago but I thought it was worth mentioning again.
There is a setting that you may wish to turn off, it’s found under ‘settings’, ‘data control’ and it’s called ‘improve the model for everyone’. By default it’s on, unless you have a business/enterprise account, (the plus account at £20 p/m is not a business account.)
What it means when left on:
Your conversations and data are used by OpenAI to train and refine ChatGPT’s underlying AI models, making it smarter and more helpful for all users. Letting OpenAI review chats for training, while disabling it keeps your new conversations private from this process, though they’re still stored temporarily.

January Special – LinkedIn™ Profile Review, Renew & Reset – LINK
There’s still time to grab your Profile Review at this special January price. You can pay now and book the Review to suit your schedule.
That said, with all the algorithm changes last year it’s even more crucial to have your profile set up in the right way as soon as possible otherwise the algorithm will just ignore you 😮

Plenty to news this week, but only act on what genuinely supports your goals.
Have a great week.
Warmest regards.
