After noting that it was exploring picture-in-picture (PiP) playback for Instagram Reels back in March, Instagram has now moved to live testing of its new PiP option. This will enable users to continue watching Reels outside the app.

As Meta looks to build out its new AI superintelligence project, focused on the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI), it’s also committed to expanding all of its AI tools with the best possible talent and approach.

The California tech start-up Flip, a TikTok-esque shopping and reviews app valued at over $1 billion this year, has abruptly shut down its website and mobile application.
TikTok™ – ByteDance Overtakes Meta In Revenue
In the first quarter of 2025, ByteDance’s revenue climbed to over $43 billion, surpassing Meta’s $42.3 billion. That makes it the world’s largest social media company by revenue.
X™ – Tests Alternative Way To View Quote Posts
X is adding another way to view expanded interaction with X posts, with a new “View quotes” quick link within the lower function bar options on updates.
Google™ – Launches Image-To-Video Tool For Product Promotions
Google’s got a new way to spice up your product listings, with improved AI image-to-video generation via its Veo-powered Google Vids tool, which is being made available to all paid Google Workspace customers.
