Welcome to this week’s Rachel’s Social Snippets #84 – Bringing you the latest social media news to help keep you up-to-date.

Meta™ – Adds New Creator Publishing Tools
The company’s Content Planner and a bulk upload option for Reels are designed to promote more original content in its apps.
Useful tools, but the real value still comes from having something worth saying.
Meta™ – Adds Incognito AI Chats To WhatsApp
The new feature offers users an enhanced level of privacy and security, but raises concerns regarding the safety and accuracy of chatbot responses.
More privacy sounds welcome, but AI answers still need a sensible level of caution.
Instagram’s™ – New 30-Day Rule Will Kill 50% Of Accounts
If half of your recent posts are re-posts, your growth goes to ZERO.
Another clear signal that original content matters more than ever.
TikTok™ – Major Ad Tool Announcements From TikTok World 2026
The app’s sixth annual event was a showcase for its updated marketing offerings, including new artificial intelligence-powered elements.
AI may make ads easier to create, but it won’t fix a weak message.
YouTube™ – Expands Likeness Detection To All Users Over 18
The video platform has been gradually rolling out the feature to users since September as it takes proactive action against deepfakes.
This feels like a necessary step as deepfakes become harder to spot.
YouTube™ – Launches Digital Training Initiative In The UK
A partnership between the platform, the BBC and the National Film and Television School aims to create a modern digital skills training program.
Good to see practical digital skills being treated as essential, not optional.

Quick LinkedIn Tip
Did you know… If you have LinkedIn Premium, you may have something called ‘Open Profile’ switched on? I’m not talking about ‘Open to Work’ that’s different.
Having an ‘Open Profile’ means people you are not connected with can message you without using InMail. That might be useful if you actively want to receive enquiries from a wider network. But if you’re getting unwanted messages from people you don’t know, it’s worth checking whether ‘Open Profile’ is turned on.
It’s a small setting, but one worth knowing about.
How To Switch ‘Open Profile’ Off:
– Go to your profile
– Click the ‘edit’ button next to your gold Premium badge
– Underneath ‘Premium Settings’ at the top you’ll see ‘Open Profile’
– Click the down arrow, far right, and slide the bar to either ‘on’ or ‘off’ according to your preference.

Recent changes on LinkedIn mean your profile helps influence who actually sees your content. If it’s too vague or outdated, your visibility can quietly drop without you realising.
If you’re unsure whether your profile is helping or holding you back, I offer focused 1–2–1 reviews with practical, straightforward advice on what to improve and what to leave alone.
£125 for a 2-hour session.
You can download my free LinkedIn Profile Clarity Checklist as a starting point, but if you’d like a fresh pair of eyes on your profile, then book a focused review.
