Welcome to this week’s Rachel’s Social Snippets #85 – Bringing you the latest social media news to help keep you up-to-date.

Google™ – EU To Fine Google Hundreds Of Millions
The European Union plans to hit Google with a fine in the high triple-digit millions of euros as part of an antitrust case under the Digital Markets Act, according to a Handelsblatt report citing commission sources.
The big platforms are clearly under more pressure to prove they are playing fairly.
Meta™ – Launches New Group-Focused Forum App
The app separates Facebook Group activity into its own platform.
Interesting move from Meta, as groups are still one of the few places where proper community conversation can happen when they are managed well.
Instagram’s™ – Edits Releases New Features
Such as: duration control on transitions, live photos and more sound effects.
Useful updates, as long as they save time rather than create more faff.
LinkedIn™ – Wants To Limit The Reach Of AI-Generated Content
The company is implementing measures to limit the rise of AI slop while simultaneously rolling out more ways to incorporate the tech.
This is why I keep saying AI can help with ideas, but your posts still need your own thoughts, experience and point of view.
LinkedIn™ – Report Looks At How LinkedIn Is Dominating B2B Queries In AI Chatbots
A new report from Meltwater shows that LinkedIn content is highly cited by AI chatbots, especially posts from personal profiles.
A good reminder that what you post on LinkedIn can have a longer shelf life than you might think, especially if it clearly shows your expertise.
X™ – Looks To Improve Incentives For Original Creators
The move could help the platform clean up the data streams that power its AI projects.
Original content should be rewarded, but trust is still the bigger issue.

How To Save A Post On Facebook
I recently had a conversation with my hairdresser. She’s quite savvy on her socials as she also sells jewellery online.
However, she was telling me how she sees things she likes on Facebook and screenshots them but then can’t find them when she wants to retrieve them.
I asked her why she didn’t ‘save’ them and she said she didn’t know that she could or how to do it. In case you don’t know how to save something on Facebook, here’s what you do, it’s very easy.
How to save a post – mobile & desktop
Find a post you want to ‘save’ click the three dots, top right of the post > choose ‘save post’ from the options that appear > then save the post into a ‘Collection’ OR ‘Create a collection’. I tend to think of Collections as folders.
I use these to help me find things more easily, for example I have a ‘Recipes collection’, a ‘Funny collection’ a ‘Work collection’ and a ‘Christmas collection” so I can choose where to file the posts I’ve saved making it much easier to locate when I want to go back to them.
How to find a saved post – mobile
When you wish to find your saved post simply go to the 3 lines top left on your profile banner or next to the Facebook logo then choose ‘saved’ from the list that pops up.
How to find a saved post – desktop
Click the house icon on the top menu bar > scroll down the left hand menu. If you can’t see the ‘saved’ option click the ‘see more’ options it will be hiding under there.
