I’ve Used Word For Years But Never Knew This!
Yesterday I discovered that you can add a clickable check box/tick box into a word document. How did I not know this sooner 😮
In case you don’t know how to do this, here’s the process:
Click File > scroll down to Options at the bottom > a Word Option box appears > scroll down to Customise Ribbon > scroll down the right hand side of the screen and tick Developer > click OK > the Developer tab now appears in your normal Word menu bar at the top.
Place your cursor where you want to add the checkbox/tick box > click Developer tab > look for the ‘checkbox/tick’ option in the Controls Group and click it.
When someone clicks the box an X will appear not a tick. If you want it to be a tick instead, this is what you need to do:
Select your newly inserted checkbox > go back to the Developer tab > click Properties > a Content Control Properties box will appear > scroll down to Check Box Properties > next to the Checked Symbol click Change. In the pop up box search and click the tick > click OK and OK again. That’s it 🙂
